The partially active 3-way top system in its class! A reinforced fibreglass paper membrane ensures a dynamic, powerful sound reproduction with warm sound! Powerful, open-sounding and detailed midrange are just a few attributes of the new PRS 165.3 3-way system. The reinforced, powder-coated metal basket ensures optimal stability and provides good ventilation of the strong ferrite drive system. The ventilated coil carrier in combination with the large core bore also provide the necessary cooling, which has a positive effect on the efficiency. To connect the woofer, low-pass filtering is required in the signal source/amplifier source.
The 19 mm fabric tweeters play silky, soft and look unobtrusive. They reproduce fine, detailed and deliver a very clear image of the tweeter. Their very good round beam properties provide that certain extra in the tweeter nuances. They can be mounted in the mounting or mounting housing and thus optimally adjusted in their radiation characteristics.
The PRS 165.3 comes with a high-quality housing switch equipped with elaborately designed air coils and premium film capacitors. Here, too, a two-stage mid-tone filtering with level adjustment of 6 dB / 12 dB is possible.
The 80 mm midrange drivers score points with their hand-coated paper membrane and the stiffened metal basket, which has a high stability. The whole thing is powered by a strong ferrite magnet with optimised magnetic field symmetry. The well-ventilated metal basket and the ventilated coil carrier with the large core bore ensure sufficient cooling even at high levels. This ensures detailed centres and a high efficiency, including cover grid.
